A scene from one of the Star Wars movies? Well, sort of. You see Hollywood isn’t the only one interested in realistic animation. This image, for instance, is a frame taken from a digital animation produced by Maas Digital for NASA. It shows the Deep Impact spacecraft approaching Comet Tempel 1. It goes on to show what scientists believed happened when the spacecraft released a probe that impacted the comet last July 4th. The probe hit the comet with an energy equal to nearly 5 tons of TNT.
