What Do You Think?

Poems to Save the Rainforest
Let there be peace
Among us and our trees.
Recycle your paper and trash,
To spare them, please.

Beauty of the Rain Forest

Bedtime. I count
Every second that goes by. I think
Anything could happen. I fall asleep.
Under my covers I dream about
You and me jumping and playing.

Out of the water I splash.
Fishes tickle my feet.

Trees swaying in the wind I
Hear a strange sound.
Everything goes dark.

Rain starts falling.
A huge tree falls in the water.
I hear chopping.
Nearer it comes.
Fear falls
Over me.
Rescue us say the trees. I close my
Eyes. Suddenly the sun comes out. All the
Trees are gone. Stop I cry. I
Sit up crying, thinking of how many trees are being killed every second.
