For this science fiction short story contest, we asked readers to imagine the future – what changes you think will happen to Earth over the next hundred years. You might say that our winning author foresees the ultimate change for Earthlings!

The winning essay, "Martin and Duggle," was written by John I. Mange, Jr. and was featured in the September 2001 issue of ODYSSEY, Pop Quiz: Bubbles & Foam.
