Ngc 1579

It is an H II region, a region of star formation. If you were expecting an image, it means the author has deleted it. ngc 1579 (also known as the Northern Trifid) is a diffuse nebula in the constellation Perseus. NGC 1579 (also known as the Northern Trifid) is a diffuse nebula in the constellation Perseus.

NGC 1579 is about 2,100 light years away and has a diameter of 3 light years. Like the Trifid, NGC 1579 is a study in contrasting blue and red colours, with dark dust trails prominent in the central regions of the nebula. Instead, the dust in NGC 1579 drastically attenuates, reddens and scatters the light from an embedded, extremely young, massive star that itself emits the characteristic red hydrogen alpha light.
